Stretching over the relatively small area of 11,580 sqm, Qatar is one of the smallest countries in the world. With a current total population of about 2,280,000 people from all over the world, Qatar sits along the edge of the Arabian gulf and northeastern saudi Arabia and has evolved as one of the world’s most prominent producers of oil and gas. This tiny Islamic nation is known nowadays as the richest country in the world and boasts the fastest growing economy in the Middle east.
The tourism sector has received a major boost from the numerous events, conferences and exhibitions hosted by Qatar – notably the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 – all of which contribute to attracting business and leisure tourists.
